Welcome …
A Genealogical Research Service
2016 Looking for Grandma
…to
the
world
of
genealogical
research.
I’ve
heard
it
said
that
genealogy
is
the
fastest
growing
hobby.
Traditional
genealogical
works
were
often
little
more
than
a
collection
of
names,
dates,
and
locations
-
hopefully
arranged
in
a
way
that
allowed
the
reader
to
track
a
given
line
of
ancestors,
or
follow
the
descent
from
an
earlier
family
member.
In
recent
years
there
has
been
an
increasing
emphasis
on
understanding
peoples
lives
in
the
times
in
which
they
lived.
There
has
also
been
an
increased
emphasis
on
including
source information to support the claims made.
These factors taken together both complicate and enliven the field.
Who was my great great grandfather?
Where did he live, work and die?
Who were his family and friends?
Was he a farmer, merchant, soldier or statesman?
What was life like then, there?
Where do I go to find out?
How do I know what information is reliable? How do I (or do I !) share with others?
These pages are not intended to answer all your questions.
Hopefully they will help you ask a few pertinent ones, suggest ways to investigate others, and let
you know that
I would be happy to help you with your research!
“About” takes you to details about my business, myself, and the process of working with a hired researcher. Please
look here an explanation of our charges.
“Services” explains a variety of ways in which I might be of assistance, and includes information on current research
trips and schedules.
“Resources” takes you to some suggested linked sites, and includes some of my projects that may be of interest.
“Contact us” - (obviously I hope) - provides the information you need to buy some of those services, ask additional
questions, or give other feedback.
